The esteemed Shanghai Ranking’s Academic Ranking of has ranked Western Sydney University among the top 400 universities in the world. For international students, there is an academic excellence scholarship offered by the vice-chancellor.

Students from abroad are welcome to apply for this award. When studying in Australia, international students must have access to enough money.

The scholarship covers 50% of the tuition fee per annum for up to three years. It is a tuition waiver and doesn’t cover costs associated with living expenses.

It is a scholarship that is available to international students and as such, anybody outside of Australia can apply.

Eligibility for the Scholarship

1. To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:

2. Be international students and not Australian citizens, citizens, or permanent residents of Australia. If their visa status changes to one of these during the study period, the scholarship will discontinue.

3. Begin a new program of study in 2024 for the first time.

4. Apply to study in a CRICOS-registered undergraduate degree program.

5. Meet the academic eligibility requirements for either the $6,000 or $3,000 multi-year scholarship.

6. Fulfill all other admission requirements and accept their admission offer.

Applicants are ineligible if they:

1. Are citizens of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia?

2. Are study abroad or exchange students coming to the University?

3. Are currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at Western Sydney University.

4. Do not commence study in the session and year indicated in their offer. Commencement may not be deferred.

5. Are granted more than 160 credit points in advanced standing. (Note: In the event of advanced standing, the scholarship will apply to the reduced duration of the program and will not exceed the annual value of the scholarship in any one year of full-time study).

6. Study less than 80 credit points to complete the program.

7. Are applying to study a program located at the Sydney City campus.

8. Have been awarded another scholarship by the University or another organization that covers the cost of tuition fees (fully or partially) to study at Western Sydney University.

How to Apply

An application is not required. Every new application will be given automatic consideration for funding.

The task of shortlisting will be handled by a group of university officers. Based on the panel’s analysis and the selection criteria, applicants will be rated. There will be no need for a separate scholarship application.

The University will email the finalists to let them know they made it to the finals, and they will need to send a statement explaining how the scholarship will help them with their education and future professions.

Scholarships are a great way to scale through school because you will not have to worry about the resources and you will be more focused on academics.
