hey everyone, so I was considering going into further education to change careers and get into IT. I am currently eligible for a retraining program in Germany (Umschulung). The training period would be 2-3 years, similar to an apprenticeship.
I finished a few Python courses. Other than that I have no experience in anything programming related.
I’ve been doing some research on what would be a good entry point as a total beginner and I considered software engineering. There is also an option to do general computer science and I think this would be good to teach me the fundamentals however, I’m concerned that it could be harder to get a job when deciding on that.
With looking at all the information online I feel a bit overwhelmed so I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences with their path of education or their experiences in general. any advice is welcome, thank you.
