JAMB Commences UTME to DE Conversion for 2023/2024 Admission Process

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced UTME to DE conversion for the 2023/2024 admission process.

This process will allow candidates who possess A-level, OND, NCE, or their equivalents to gain admission into universities in Nigeria through an alternative route.

Eligibility

To be eligible for UTME conversion or upgrade to DE, candidates must have:

  • obtained the 2023 UTME form and completed registration;
  • a minimum of two A-level passes or their equivalent, which must be relevant to the intended course of study.

Requirements for UTME-DE Conversion:

Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements and wish to convert their UTME to DE will require the following documents:

  • UTME Registration Slip;
  • O-level results;
  • A-level, OND, NCE, or other equivalent results;
  • JAMB Profile Code;
  • Registered Phone Number.

How to Convert UTME to DE (Direct Entry)

It is important for interested candidates to follow the application process diligently to ensure a smooth and successful conversion of UTME to Direct Entry.

  1. Visit any JAMB office and request for UTME to DE conversion.
  2. Provide your Profile Code or UTME Registration Number.
  3. An OTP will be sent to your registered Phone Number to confirm your conversation. This might take a little while depending on the network.
  4. Fill in the UTME to DE Conversion form and upload the required documents listed above;
  5. Request for a printout.
  6. Wait for the conversion to reflect on your portal.

NOTE: While filling out the conversion form, you’ll have to choose two universities and courses (First and Second Choice).
