Overview of the Application

The call for applications is extended to suitably qualified candidates keen to enroll in the various undergraduate programs JABU offers. This invitation is not just for UTME candidates but also Direct Entry prospects.

JABU’s Admission Prerequisites

General Admission Criteria

All aspirants must have GCE, O/L, SSCE (WAE, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent) showcasing credit passes in five subjects, including both English Language and Mathematics. This can be from one or two sittings. Moreover, those who initially chose another institution on JAMB but now wish to select JABU as their preferred choice should:

  1. Amend their choice of institution via JAMB.
  2. Secure the Joseph Ayo Babalola University Application Form.
  3. Engage in the screening exercise.

Good news for “awaiting result” candidates: you can still apply, as long as your results will be released by September of the year of admission.

Direct Entry Candidates

  1. Five credit passes at WASC (SSCE), NECO, or equivalent in subjects related to each program, with at least two at ‘A’ Level.
  2. OND with upper Credit or NCE at the Credit level from any university that JABU recognizes.
  3. Joseph Ayo Babalola University Diploma.
  4. Diplomas from any other recognized universities.

1. COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES

Degrees Offered:

  • B. Agric.
    • Agricultural Economics and Extension Services
    • Animal Science and Production

Admission Requirements:

  • Five ‘O’ Level credit passes English, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Economics.

3. COLLEGE OF HUMANITIES

  • B.A English
  • B.A History and International Studies
  • B.A Philosophy and Religious Studies

Admission Requirements:

  • Five ‘O’ Level credits: English and four other Arts and Social Science subjects.
    • For B.A. English: includes Literature in English.
    • For B.A. History: includes Government or History.

4. COLLEGE OF NATURAL SCIENCES

Degrees Offered:

  • B.Sc. Biochemistry
  • B.Sc. Computer Science
  • B.Sc. Microbiology
  • B.Sc. Industrial Chemistry
  • B.Sc. Physics Electronics

Admission Requirements:

  • Various depending on the course. For instance:
    • B.Sc. Biochemistry: credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics.
    • B.Sc. Computer Science: credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, and others.

5. COLLEGE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES

Degrees Offered:

  • B.Sc. Economics
  • B.Sc. International Relations
  • B.Sc. Mass Communication
  • B.Sc. Political Science

Admission Requirements:

  • Various depending on the course. For instance:
    • B.Sc. Economics: credits in English, Mathematics, Economics, and two other Arts or Social Science subjects.
    • B.Sc. Mass Communication: credits in English, Literature in English, and a pass in Mathematics.

6. COLLEGE OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

The application process is seamlessly digital. To apply, aspirants should:

  1. Visit the application portal: http://portal.jabu.edu.ng/pro_student/login
  2. Create a student account by completing the form with their details.
  3. Activate the student account by checking their email and clicking on the link provided.
  4. Log in to the e-portal using their student login credentials.
  5. Complete their bio-data and upload all required documents in JPEG format.
  6. Check their email account for a response from the admission officer for further instructions on the screening date.

Furthermore, application forms can also be obtained from several designated centers upon presentation of an N5,000 bank draft drawn in favor of JABU.
