The most common language exam required for admission to institutions overseas is the IELTS Exam Screening Test. It is also offered in two formats: Academic IELTS and General IELTS. As you read on, we will be showing everything you need to know about the test.

Students are required to take the Academic test. All other applicants who need IELTS scores for Visa purposes need to take the General test.  However, before then, for those who just heard about IELTS for the first time, please listen.

What is the IELTS Exam Screening Test?

How Does IELTS Exam Screening Test Work?

  • Speaking.

IELTS Eligibility

The IELTS exam is open to all. And there are no specific eligibility criteria. The respective institutes may have different eligibility criteria but the IELTS has no specific selection criteria.

Also, the IELTS test is recommended for candidates 16 years and above.

IELTS Registration

The IELTS test is available on 48 fixed dates per year. And this is up to four times a month. However, it depends on local demand. Also, the candidates have the liberty of taking the exam on any of the 48 days at their convenience.

Additionally, apart from this, candidates can also reattempt the exam whenever they want. Also, there is no limit for giving the IELTS test, candidates can take the IELTS exam as many times as they want or till they reach their dream score.

However, every time the candidate has to pay the exam fee of Rs. 13,250.

How to Register for the IELTS Exam Screening Test

Visit the official IELTS website. Go to the ‘Register for Test’ option. Select your preferred test, Test type, and available Test Date in the city.

Also, give your details. Furthermore, give your registration details. Upload copies of your Passport.

Furthermore, select the list of colleges to which you want to send your Score Report. Also, review your details one last time before making payment.

Pay the test fee. Once the payment has been made. Candidates can take a printout of the acknowledgment receipt.

Before diving into the IELTS exam screening test date, note. in Nigeria are Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ogun, Ondo, Kano, Benin, Calabar, and Ibadan.

Also, a request for cancellation or postponement of your IELTS test must be made strictly 5 weeks before the test date. And this is to be done via email or in person only.

Thus, telephone cancellation or postponement will not be accepted.
