Free eclipse themed event Saturday as Shreveport’s SPAR and science museum team up

As the world anticipates the upcoming solar eclipse, SPAR (Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation) is thrilled to announce its partnership with Sci-Port Discovery Center to host an engaging and educational event for the community.

The event will take place on April 6th, at 2:00 PM at Southern Hills. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the wonders of astronomy through hands-on demonstrations, interactive activities, and expert-led discussions provided by Sci-Port Discovery Center.

Highlights of the event include:

• Hands-on demonstrations elucidating the phases of the moon.
• Expert explanations of the various types of eclipses.
• Engaging in foam rocket activities.

This free event is open to everyone eager to expand their knowledge and have a good time exploring science. “We’re delighted to collaborate with Sci-Port Discovery Center to bring this unique and enriching experience to our community,” said Shelly Ragle, SPAR Director. “Our goal is to foster a love for science and learning in a fun and accessible way, and we believe this event accomplishes just that.”
