Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO) has postponed the POST-UTME/DE screening exercise for the 2024/2025 Academic Session earlier fixed to hold on Monday and Tuesday, the 21st and 22nd October, 2024.

A statement signed by the Registrar of the University, Mallam Aminu Abba, FIMC, FIPMD said a new date will be communicated, soon.

The University regrets any inconveniences that the postponement might have caused, please.

Eligibility

Eligibility Only candidates who applied through JAMB for the 2023/2024 UTME or Direct entry admission and have chosen the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo as First Choice are eligible for the exercise.

The UTME candidates must have passed O’Level at credit level in at least five (5) relevant subjects including English and Mathematics at not more than two sittings and have scored a minimum cut-off marks stated below.

For the Direct Entry (DE) Candidates, the University accepts a minimum of Second Class lower in relevant Science courses or A Levels/IJMB with a minimum of 13 points including Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Available Courses at the Federal University of Health Sciences (FUSHO)

1. COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

• Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) – 240 and above

• B.Sc., Biochemistry – 200 and above

2. FACULTY OF SCIENCE

• B.Sc. Microbiology – 200 and above

• B.Sc. Computer Science – 200 and above

• B.Sc. Chemistry – 190 and above

• B.Sc. Biostatistics – 190 and above

• B.Sc. Biological Sciences – 190 and above

• B.Sc. Mathematics – 190 and above

• B.Sc. Physics – 190 and above

Candidates who scored 200 and above in UTME could be allowed to take alternative courses during the screening exercise from the following programmes:

• B. Pharmacy

• B. Nursing Science

• B. Medical Lab. Science

• B.Sc. Human Nutrition and Dietetics

The Candidates who selected FUHSO as the University of First Choice during the 2023 JAMB examination are hereby invited for Post UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening scheduled as follows

Date: Monday – Tuesday, 13th – 14th November, 2023

Venue: Lecture Theatre, Take-Off Campus, Otada, Otukpo

Candidates who wish to switch to this University should effect the change on the JAMB portal and select the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo as the University of First Choice.

Such a candidate should select the desired programme for which he/she has the requisite UTME subject combinations and relevant O’Level results.

The Candidate should ensure that his/her O’Level results are successfully uploaded on the JAMB portal for admission.

Any candidate whose results are not uploaded will not be available on JAMB’s Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) and therefore will not be eligible for admission.

The Candidates are requested to appear for the screening with the following documents:

i. Evidence of selecting the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO) as the first choice through JAMB

ii. Print out of JAMB results from JAMB CAPS

iii. Original SSCE/NECO O’ Level Certificate/Result

iv. Birth Certificate

v. Two passport photographs

vi. Evidence of the payment of a non-refundable processing fee of two thousand Naira (N2, 000.00) only in favour of FUHSO through REMITA.

vii. Two photocopies of each of the above documents

About FUHSO

The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo is the first Federal University of Health Sciences in Nigeria.  The University which was established in 2019 and commenced activities in 2020 has concluded its first academic session. 

It is currently in session and has commenced the process of admission into all the programmes of the University approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
