What is selenium? Why do we use selenium for Automation?

Selenium is an open-source automation tool designed for testing web applications across different browsers and platforms. Originally developed by Jason Huggins in 2004.
Selenium allows testers and developers to automate web interactions, perform browser testing, and validate web applications effectively. It provides the ability to simulate user actions, such as clicking, typing, navigating in browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
