This operator is your best friend when you want to assign default values but need to treat null or undefined differently from other falsy values like 0 or “”.

  • The ?? operator is similar to || but with a key difference: it only considers null or undefined as the absence of a value.   • Accessing nested properties in objects can sometimes lead to errors if a property in the chain is null or undefined. Optional chaining helps avoid these errors elegantly.
